Despite numerous attempts to dine at the uber-cool Pavilion Café last summer, the pop-up foodie favorite in Victoria Park vanished before your very eyes. However just as karma seems to be inexplicably working against you, rumors begin to swirl that the genius duo, Rob Green and Brett Redman, have teamed up once again to open an eatery in southeast London, this time all brick and mortar. Thankfully, Elliot’s, an all day café showcasing the best of Borough Market’s products, will be a permanent fixture in London’s most notable foodie haven, thus renewing your relationship with the culinary universe. The ethos of Elliot’s, an evolution of Green and Redman’s former ventures, centers on a trifecta of terms rarely used in congruency with one another – affordable, welcoming and gastronomy. The sum of these parts equating to a convivial environment where customers are encouraged to return on a weekly basis to enjoy the daily changing menu respectful of seasonal produce, meat and dairy sourced only from Borough Market’s finest traders.

Simple, modest ingredients become the hero of the dishes allowing the culinary brilliance of highly acclaimed Head Chef, Isaac McHale, to shine. Diners will be sampling from a selection of small and medium sharing plates amid a juxtaposed ambiance of traditional restaurant décor fused with gritty, yet charming details like cast iron communal tables, exposed brick and festival lighting. Although the rusticity and laid back atmosphere of Elliot’s does come with a minor splash of grandeur- all staff will be cloaked in aprons and apparel designed by none other than fashion mastermind, Paul Smith; a witty collaboration proving the authenticity and uniqueness of Elliot’s mantra. No reservations needed as Elliot’s has an open door policy from 7:00am until the close of dinner, allowing patrons all day access to Borough Market’s unofficial ambassador.
