Daily Dream Home: Greenwich

Today’s home in Greenwich, Connecticut carries a bit of a celebrity pedigree. It is being sold by entrepreneurs J.R. and Loren Ridinger, founders of Market America and Shop.com,  According to the NY Post, the Ridingers paid $6 million for the property in 2016.

The shingled home was built in 2014 and features grand scale rooms, soaring ceilings and master craftsmanship throughout. The Ridingers were seeking a summer retreat from their Miami Beach home that had room for entertaining.

The vast wall space on the first floor, is the perfect backdrop for the Ridingers’ art collection, which includes pieces by Andy Warhol, Banksy, and Daniel Arsham.

The Ridingers created a magical play retreat on one entire floor that features a train room, a dollhouse room, reading loft and storytelling room.  Loren says: “It is the kind of wonderland that I dreamed of having as a child and I’m thrilled that we could create it for our grandchildren.”  Real estate agent Robin Kencel, representing the property, adds, “This is truly the most magical children’s wonderland  that I’ve seen in a private home.”
Other highlights include a professional level recording studio with lounge and a generous lower level family room with fireplace and leading out to a zen garden.
Besides finding a home with a modern vibe, the Ridingers were committed to finding a property with land and topography that could continue the magic outdoors.
The home has seven bedrooms and over 11,000 square feet of space all decked out in a sophisticated style.
This elegant estate is listed for $7.495 million with Robin Kencel of Compass.
