Popular iPhone app WunWun, has expanded their delivery service to the Hamptons today, just in time for the height of the summer season. Coinciding with this announcement, WunWun is also introducing an additional new feature which will allow people with the app to call drivers on-demand. Delivery and on-demand drivers are available 24/7 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout Southampton to Montauk.
Don’t have WunWun? You should. Users can make a request from any store or restaurant in the area and get delivery in less than an hour.
People can “WunWun” anything to be delivered, such as an entire list of groceries from Citarella to a bottle of champagne, or even a float for a last minute dip in the pool. Once a request is submitted, the app immediately connects the user with a WunWun Helper who purchases and delivers your request.
The cost makes this a no-brainer; it’s a $10 per town delivery fee — so, for example, if you wanted to go from Montauk to Sag Harbor (four towns) it would be $40, but a delivery from one area of East Hampton to another would only be $10.
The driving model also may cause some competition for apps like Uber. It’s $30 per town for up to four friends.
“WunWun has been growing organically at an incredible rate since launch and this expansion will allow us to test our product in new markets,” said Calvin Lai, Co-Founder of WunWun. “From our traction so far, we’ve been able to see what our customers want and with this data now we will rapidly expand WunWun into as many cities as we can before the end of this year.”
We can’t wait for our next Hamptons vacation to test it for ourselves!
