Esthec solar-powered superyacht makes for an interesting concept.
On the heels of his Solar Gem which we wrote about a while back, eco-minded designer Dennis Ingemansson has come up with another solar-powered superyacht concept, executed for Dutch concern Esthec, a leading composite decking company. The 45-metre craft of course utilizes Esthec’s sophisticated composite decking material in innovative ways, with complete design freedom in form, color and pattern. Esthec decking offers greatly improved functional qualities, is extremely durable, lightweight, recyclable and requires low maintenance. Whether that’s enough to break the superyacht set of its teak habit remains to be seen. – From James List
