Johnnie Walker Scotch is the bestselling whisky brand in the world. The Red, Black and Blue Labels from Johnnie Walker are the epitome of great tasting blended Scotch whisky. Johnnie Walker Blue, which costs over $200 a bottle, is the gold standard for blended Scotch.
Now there is the new Platinum Label. The Platinum Label, priced at about $110 a bottle, is designed to fit into the Johnnie Walker line of blended scotches, between the Black and Blue Labels. All the malts Johnnie Walker Platinum are at least 18 years old. The company’s tasting notes describe Platinum as, “…characterized by a sweet yet elegant Speyside style and subtle Islay smokiness.There is a waxy, fruity and sweet taste mixed with slight drying astringency and subtle smokiness.”
The Platinum Label will be a permenant addition to the Johnnie Walker lineup.
