Available starting October 2020, world-renowned architect Frank Gehry has teamed up with Hennessey X.O for a limited-edition bottle to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Hennessy X.O.
Hennessy was created in 1870 by Englishman Maurice Hennessy for the sole purpose of enjoyment with family and friends. Hennessy X.O is documented to be the first “Extra Old” Cognac ever created. XO cognacs by law must be aged for at least 10 years in French Oak Barrels from the Troncais or Limousin forests, and the long aging process results in smooth, balanced yet complex flavors- bringing out the notes of the wood and selection of French grapes.
The Frank Gehry bottle is inspired by the historic liquid, as well as the nature of the surrounding area- the Charente River and the well-known chalky Cognac soil that surrounds the Maison. The bottle is an intricate marriage of stunning gold and glass, both bold and dazzling at the same time. The 150 numbered limited-edition bottles are each imprinted with Gehry’s signature, perfect for any collector. Price: $17,000.
With shared values of giving back to the community, Hennessy and Gehry will donate proceeds from the original (#1) Frank Gehry X.O 150th Anniversary Masterpiece to Unfinished Business – the brand’s new initiative that helps small businesses with the financial and mentorship means to power through challenges of COVID-19.
An additional release of inspired limited edition Hennessy X.O bottles, also created by Frank Gehry, will launch in markets worldwide to further celebrate the collaboration at a lower price point of around $200.
A wider release of limited-edition Hennessy X.O bottles also created by Frank Gehry will launch in markets worldwide to further celebrate the collaboration. For more information, please see: www.hennessy.com
