BMW this week released the first images of the small, four seat, all-electric car it plans to produce by 2013. The car is part of BMW’s urban mobility project, called “Megacity”.
Adrian van Hooydonk, BMW’s design chief, said the design would be sporty and stylish —and that it would not resemble the Toyota Prius.
Expect a 134-horsepower electric motor, providing a top speed of around 90 miles per hour.
The Megacity is BMW’s first vehicle intended for production, rather than prototype testing.
It is very intriguing what BMW is doing for the “car” part of the vehicle – the motors, the regenerative braking, etc etc. But it is also very interesting with what they are doing with the key fob and cell phones as far as communication with the car. Excellent blog post – check this one out for some more insights as well!
