Facundo Rum Collection, Barcardi’s high end sipping rums, has rolled out a limited-edition bar cart for the holiday season to tempt the brand’s growing tribe of rum aficionados.
The bar car is handmade walnut wood and the hardware is made of solid brass, including precision cut wheels and bespoke, custom-crafted and Art Deco-inspired handles. The front of the cart also features a brass inlaid laser-cut Facundo, a nod to Don Facundo Bacardi Masso, the inspiration for the entire Facundo collection.
The cart is built to hold entertaining essentials, from glassware to bar tools and has two shelves, one of which is made with a beveled glass and the other of walnut wood. For additional storage the cart has a drawer fitted to hold any additional accessories. Sadly, the cart does not come fully stocked with glasses and gear.
However, what it does feature is pretty special. On the top of the cart, one side features three defined spaces which perfectly house all four of the Facundo expressions. The opposite side boasts an inlaid polished stone, to add further detail and texture to the bar cart and there is a hand-cut X pattern engrained in the wood itself, which represents striking sun rays, inspired by Cuba’s golden era. Each cart comes with the full Facundo collection including the Neo, Eximo, Exquisito, and Paraiso expressions.
The four sipping rums sourced from the Bacardi family private rum reserves and are a tribute to Bacardi founder Don Facundo Bacardi Masso and master blender Manny Oliver, chose from 300 hand-selected blends sourced from the Bahamas to select those to include in this series. The four-bottle collection was designed to be sipped in a progression, proceeding in age and color.
Neo is a blend of medium-to heavy-bodied rums aged up to 8 years ($45). Eximo features a blend of medium to heavy bodied dark rums aged in fine oak barrels and blended before aging. They range from 10-12 years ($60). Exquisito is bold dark rum blend which marries younger rums aged seven years and matured rums aged 23 years aged in oak barrels and finished in sherry casks. Some of these rums have been individually filtered over activated carbon before aging ($120). The final expression is the Paraiso, which is a blend of dark rums aged up to 23 years that is filtered over activated carbon and then rested in French (XO) casks for a minimum of one month. Aged up to 23 years of age in white oak barrels it is the highest concentration of the oldest and finest rums of the Collection($250).
A limited number of carts are selling for $9,500. Visit facundorum.com for more information.
