Apple’s iPad 2 is selling out around the nation – in fact, reports are now saying that demand is so big, most orders will have to wait upwards of a month to get their device. Apple reported selling over 1/2 million iPad 2 tablets in the first weekend. Consumers were having little luck finding the new product in stores.

The iPad 2 has been released to excellent reviews. The device is not a major update for the iPad, but reviewers are praising the speed of the tablet. Not to mention the dual cameras, lighter weight and thinner frame.

The success of the iPad 2 will further solidify the iPad’s commanding lead in the tablet market. While others, such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the Motorla Xoom, will get a share of the pie, it’s not inconceivable that the iPad will repeat the success of the iPod – dominating the market to the tune of around 75%.
