Especially designed by Formløs Architecture for the Fjøsfestivalen (an event held in Norway), this nature-embedded sauna has a total surface of seven square meters and a captivating sculptural design.

Staging a relaxation spot requires a perfect ambiance and this particular sauna is surrounded by a lush forest and rippling river water. According to the architects, “the tight economy of the project resulted in outer and inner cladding both being executed with spruce planks of rough quality. This lends a rugged feeling to the building and reminds one of the local historical timber constructions. The building rests on pad foundations so as to make as small an impact on the ground vegetation as possible.” Reaching the bank with the sauna requires passing a picturesque farmer’s bridge. The interior is minimalist; there is a single window offering a glimpse of the environment a bench and an old wooden stove providing heat.
