Leonardo DiCaprio is not just sleeping around but the Hollywood actor has invested in a company that helps to get better sleep. The The Wolf of Wall Street actor has, along with Tobey Maguire, invested in New York-based startup Casper Sleep Inc. The duo have joined other celebrity investors like Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun and Adam Levine.
Online mattress retailer Casper Sleep has raised $55 million in Series B venture funding and has a post-money valuation of $555 million. Selling its own brand of mattresses directly to consumers, the company made a name for itself, in part, by delivering its “bed in a box,” memory foam and latex mattresses to consumers around New York by bicycle within hours of an order.
Philip Krim, co-founder and chief executive of Casper, said the company now aims to become “the global brand that’s about the best of everything when it comes to sleep,” not just mattresses on demand.
Why go through the trauma of finding the best and the perfect mattress to suit your body, sleep pattern as well as your pocket when one can just opt for a mattress that meets the coveted Goldilocks standard of ‘Just Right’. Casper Sleep also has plans to go international and in the near future, it will sell pillows and sheets in addition to its latex and memory foam mattresses.
