The super-stylist also states that she doesn’t let short-term fashion fads and magazines influence her decision in selecting suitable outfits for clients.

Svelte Betty has dressed celebrities like Joan Rivers, Meryl Streep and Candice Bergen. She has also helped Patricia Field pick costumes for the Sex and the City female stars.

Passionate about her work, she elucidates, “My job, I guess, is taking care of people. I’ve often been called a clothes therapist.” Also, “I don’t pick from labels. I pick visually. I pride myself on that.”

We will soon come across Halbreich on the big screen as she is one of the stars in “Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s”, the new documentary about New York’s iconic department store Bergdorf Goodman.
