Produced by Old Jameson Distillery in Ireland, Jameson is a world-wide brand of Irish Whiskey, but is owned by the French beverage conglomerate Pernod Ricard. Their premium Jameson Gold Reserve was created in 1996, and sells for around $70/bottle in the US.
Jameson Gold is a blend of three whiskeys of advanced years, one of which is matured in virgin oak barrels. It’s the inspired choice of this virgin American oak, plus with the bourbon barrels and sherry casks, which gives this whiskey its wonderful taste.
On your first taste of Jameson Gold you will be pleasantly surprised at the smoothness of the blend. The makers at Jameson has simply hit upon a magnificent formula with their Gold Reserve. There’s a smooth creaminess to it – memorable and never dull. It’s a taste that leaves you feeling relaxed and warm.
We give Jameson Gold Reserve a hearty thumbs up.
