A new study shows that walnuts are top dog when it comes to health benefits, delivering more healthful and higher quality antioxidants than peanuts, pecans, almonds and other nuts.
While nuts have long been shown to provide health benefits, the walnut has not been singled out until now. Walnuts can be a high quality protein source to go with potent antioxidants.
Vinson said it takes only about seven walnuts a day to get the potential health benefits.
The study’s results were presented at the National Meeting & Exposition of the American Chemical Society in California.
