Tommy Hilfiger, the eponymous label of the American fashion designer turns 30. To celebrate the milestone, the brand scores a goal by unveiling all-American football themed fall ad campaign which compliments its recent fall runway show inspired by the same sport. One of the world’s leading designer lifestyle brands celebrates the essence of classic American cool style.WWD reports that the designer’s fall ad campaign features “The Hilfigers” surrounded by football players wearing their uniforms. Dubbed “Team Hilfiger,” the campaign was photographed by Craig McDean in Monterey Park, California. Styled by Karl Templer and creatively directed by Trey Laird of Laird+Partners, the campaign features model Behati Prinsloo along with models from previous campaigns like Julia Hafstrom, RJ King and Miles McMillan as well as new additions like Bruno Fabre, Nate Gill and Simon Nessman.
Debuted at New York Fashion Week in February, the Fall 2015 collection fuses American football, stadium spirit and varsity motifs with Hilfiger’s classic designs. Reflecting on the label’s 30-year heritage, the collection plays with the established codes of American fashion, luxuriously reimagined with a modern athletic twist.
The 64 year old founder of the brand states, “American football has always been one of my favorite sports, and for fall 2015, we look to the iconic game for inspiration in our advertising campaign and collection.” Mr Hilfiger also added, “As we commemorate our milestone 30th anniversary, we capture all the eclectic details of game-day fashion — from athletic stripes to metallic touches and collegiate insignia, all reinvented with our trademark twist that’s irreverent and cool.”
The latest campaign is expected to go globally public on August 3, with a multimedia program that includes print, traditional display and social media. The print ads will run in September issues, with cover gatefolds and double pages in magazines such as Vogue, Elle, Vanity Fair, InStyle, Marie Claire, Glamour and Harper’s Bazaar.
