A video of makeup artist Romy Soulemain demonstrates how she achieves Prada’s ‘vampire’ look.
Pat McGrath’s makeup mandate for Prada’s fall runway was an “eccentric, aristocratic woman,” but the look was more “True Blood” than blue blood, thanks to the models’ feverish, red-rimmed eyes, featuring glittery lids and bleached brows. We asked the makeup artist Romy Soulemain to make McGrath’s undead-sexy look, well, a little more livable. Our house model (and fashion assistant) Lindsey Gathright proved to be the perfect victim, despite her un-vampirelike tan. Soulemain used Chanel’s slick new Eye Gloss palette and fiery glitter from Face Stockholm on Gathright’s eyes but kept her brows as is, creating a kinder, gentler, altogether more glamorous creature of the night. – From NY Times
