She’s only been living in New York City since March, but the city apparently has taken to country-turned-pop-superstar Taylor Swift quite swiftly.
NYC & Company, New York’s official tourism marketer, announced earlier this week that it has named Swift the Global Welcome Ambassador for New York City.
How does she feel about the honor? “I’m still learning, but I’m so enthusiastic about this city that when I love something, I’ve very vocal about it,” she told Good Morning America on Monday.
Swift, who purchased a swanky $20 million dollar apartment in TriBeCa in May, appears to be loving every minute of living on the East Coast. Some New Yorkers, however, aren’t so in love with title and “job” being given to such a New York newbie.
Regardless, she’s already started. As part of her role, the singer presented a series of videos for New York’s official tourism agency, NYC Go. Coincidentally, the opening track to Swift’s fifth studio album is “Welcome to New York.”
