Some modern coffee tables tend to express more than the need for a break alongside acquaintances and friends – they create the atmosphere necessary for the coffee break to bring people together. To exemplify, we showcase the Loop Coffee Table, a contemporary coffee table design created by Glasgow-based bespoke furniture design studio Re Form The Norm. By “mimicking the effect of tucking loops into one another”, as the designer says, he created a playful yet sophisticated coffee table. An interesting effect is given by the illusion of weakness where the loops overlap – the tension actually makes that part of the coffee table stronger.
Materials used in construction – birch ply or MDF – are available in various colors, as are the veneer combinations. One of the versions you can see in the photos below is the one with Walnut veneer on the inside that “highlights the sweeping curve of the wave”. Displaying a modern spray-lacquered finish, the Loop Coffee Table is the perfect company to a modern lifestyle.
