Starbucks on Tuesday rolled out the 31-ounce Trenta drink size in 14 southern and southwestern U.S. states. Trenta is available only for Tazo shaken iced teas, iced tea lemonades and iced coffees. Beginning Feb. 1, it will be available in California. On May 3, the rest of the country will get a chance to order the super-sized drink. “Customers have been asking for larger sizes for these drinks,” Starbucks spokesman Alan Hilowitz said. He said Trenta was pilot-tested last summer in Atlanta and parts of Florida and Southern California.
The 31oz addition to the Starbucks lineup is 325mL larger than Starbucks’ previous largest size, the Venti. At 916 mL, the Trenta is actually larger than the average capacity of the adult human stomach (900mL). From the National Post:
