With a 9000 strong waiting-list for its newest bag, the Alexa, Mulberry has another hit on its hands. The Telegraph’s Kate Finnigan talks to Creative Director, Emma Hill.
‘I think the idea of overt status has slowly been replaced with the idea of more individuality, heritage and heirloom pieces,’ she says. ‘Especially given the economic situation. I think those days of – and I thank God – people staggering down Bond Street with bags and bags and just buying stuff for the sake of it, they’re gone. I think superbrands are probably more affected by that. We’re a bit more heritage.’
