Contemporary homes display a challenging suite of design lines, from architectural features to bold versatility. Tomek Rygalik‘s Chopin Sofa exposes an elegant design made out of three possibilities – you can use the furniture item as a sofa or split it into an armchair and a lounge chair. The Polish designer created this unique asymmetric sofa for furniture manufacturer Comforty, expressing a comforting simplicity appreciated for its appearance and impact on senses.
The sofa seems to be on an ascending path, starting with a lower backrest on the armchair side and slowly escalating to shape a bold chaise lounge. Put several sofas like this one together and you can easily end up with a transformable space – armchairs can be used to define a modern public space and the sofa is successfully functional in residential establishments where dynamic, design-loving people want to showcase the beauty of modern, versatile furniture manufacturing.
