Baring her soul and skin, Sharon Stone poses for Harper’s Bazaar. The 57 year old American actress has been defying age as well as the life-changing challenges to make a bold statement in the series of stunning black and white photos captured by Mark Abrahams.sharon-stone-harpers_bazaar_1Styled by Fashion Editor Samantha Traina and sporting pieces of jewelry like necklace, ring, earrings and bracelet by  Bulgari, Tiffany & Co. as well as Cartier, the actress has her feet strapped in Jimmy Choo shoes. The figure-flaunting photo shoot accompanies an interview in which she reveals about her struggle to rebuild her career after suffering a massive aneurism in 2001 and a subsequent cerebral hemorrhage that lasted nine days. The diva has made a comeback and proves that she still radiates the kind of natural, timeless beauty that commands a room. Posing fully nude for the story, she wasn’t anxious at all.

sharon-stone-harpers_bazaar_3Stone declares that the nude shoot was actually easier for her to face than the 1990 nude photo shoot for Playboy. She adds, “I’m aware that my ass looks like a bag of flapjacks. But I’m not trying to be the best-looking broad in the world. At a certain point you start asking yourself, ‘What really is sexy?’ It’s not just the elevation of your boobs. It’s being present and having fun and liking yourself enough to like the person that’s with you. If I believed that sexy was trying to be who I was when I did Basic Instinct, then we’d all be having a hard day today.”

Basic Instinct actress favors them because they’re far subtler than surgical procedures.

Sharon has emerged a winner by overcoming the after-effects of the illness that included numbness, impaired speech including persistent stutter and blurred vision. She also looks in to the positive aspect of it and adds, “I became more emotionally intelligent. I chose to work very hard to open up other parts of my mind. Now I’m stronger.”

Regaining her trademark seductive, sassy verve, this fall, Stone will star in and executive-produce a new series on TNT, Agent X, in which she plays the vice president of the United States.
