It is said that Italy is one of the greatest places to travel to. Due to its cultural richness, the glorious past, the unique landscapes, the cuisine and the welcoming people. As you find your way throughout Italy, you discover several enchanting places filled with myths and legends and stories awaiting to be discovered. Each of these places has its particularities, its beauty, its memorable details.
In the picturesque province of Bolzano, there’s a peaceful (quite small) village, called Sesto. A summer and winter sport resort in the mountains, Sesto is the “home” of Paramount Alma Residence, a project that really had an impact on us, being fully covered with thin strips of larch wood. The house boasts an interesting angular form and it looks like it developed out of the hillside. The wooden covering spreads like a web, protecting and adding a sense of privacy.
This sculptural project was designed by Plasma Studio, an international architecture and design studio, best known for its use of form and geometry. The house accommodates two levels. “The interior of this family home is characterized by 360-degree views. Perhaps the most spectacular of these being a view of the sky through an incision over the central stair. This opening delivers an immediate reading of exterior weather conditions, collecting precipitation and receiving direct sunlight.”
