Bigger is better. At least, that’s the thought of the folks at Samsung and the latest rumors regarding their successful Galaxy smartphones. Rumors are rampant that Samsung is readying a 5.8-inch and 6.3-inch Galaxy smartphone – called “Galaxy Mega” series. The phones would be available later this summer.
Both devices will run Android’s Jelly Bean along with Samsung’s own TouchWiz Nature interface. The Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 is expected to have a 5.8-inch qHD LCD display (960×540-pixel), a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, and an 8-megapixel rear camera. Despite the size, the 5.8 model is reportedly only 10mm thin.
The Galaxy Mega 6.3 will boast a 6.3-inch HD display, a dual-core Exynos processor, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
The 5.8 and 6.3 models are boarding on being mini tablets (both are larger than Samsung’s own Galaxy Note 2 tablet).
Samsung is looking to make something for everyone with the Galaxy Mega series. Unlike Apple, which usually creates limited size options, Samsung is introducing a wide variety of sizes to determine what is successful with the public.
