Stylish, retro speakers from Salk Sound.
Factory direct speaker builder Salk Sound has thrown their hat into the high-end audio ring, with a new state of the art speaker currently known as the HT4. Salk’s new flagship slots into their line above the current Veracity HT3, and will take the fight to some of the biggest names in audio. The HT4 will be offered in versions with 10″ or 12″ Acoustic Elegance bass drivers, each with twin opposing passive radiators to cancel out vibrations. The standard enclosure is built from MDF, with solid bamboo as an available upgrade. The midrange is a flat diaphragm design manufactured by FAL. The midrange driver sits in its own enclosure that has the unique ability to allow the midrange to operate in sealed or open baffle configurations – or anything in between. The RAAL ribbon tweeter sits in a small, somewhat Nautilus style enclosure on top of the midrange enclosure, designed to maximize dispersion. In addition to cabinet material choices, Salk will also offer various crossover and other component upgrades. Prices for the HT4 should start around $10,000. – From Audio Junkies
