We have come to search for ways of being alone in this overcrowded world just to be more in tune with ourselves. In a society that encourages collaboration, sometimes we need time for ourselves. London-based design studio TILT came up with a chair that addresses this exact request of modern people – the need to be secluded from the outside in order to recreate our own universes.
Whether we want to meditate or plunge into the adventures lying between the covers of a book, the Quiet chair creates a private world of solitude. Displaying a pentagonal shape that defines a cozy cocoon-like space, the chair’s design was inspired by the collaboration with staff and patients at the Whittington Hospital in London. The modern chair can be used as a chair or a booth, depending on the needs of the person using it.
