The Portable Spot Cleaner was crowned this year’s winner of the 2011 Electrolux Design Lab Competition and the creator was awarded €5000 and a work placement at the company. Designed by Adrian Mankovecky from Slovakia, the Portable Spot Cleaner uses negative ions and steam to clean and refresh clothes and is designed to be used by those on the go. The annual Electrolux Design Lab competition is open to industrial design students and recent graduates from around the world. This year’s entrants were tasked with designing a household appliance that considered “sensitive mobility.”
