Here’s the press release we just received from PinkMemo.com:
PinkMemo.com a Fashion, Style and Luxury Lifestyle online publication announced today that Katrina Szish has joined PinkMemo.com as Editor in Chief.
Katrina Szish, TV Host, Style Expert and Pop Culture Journalist has joined PinkMemo.com as Editor in Chief, starting this month in preparation for the Fall fashion season. The September issue will commence the editorial debut of Szish.
PinkMemo (http://www.pinkmemo.com/newyork/index.shtml) Founder Maxine Trowbridge commented, “Katrina and I have discussed and shared similar ideas regarding the future for online publications and the presence of fashion in a digital format mixed with social media and online videos. We have established a great synergy and mutual work ethic that will shine as we start to make changes over the next 6 months; we are all very excited.” PinkMemo plans to increase New York coverage through the remainder of 2009, and intends to launch L.A. in early 2010, and London later that year.
Based in New York, Szish will maintain her presence in TV broadcasting, continuing her frequent work with CNN, FOX, HLN’s “Showbiz Tonight” and CBS’ “The Early Show.” However, by taking on this new role at PinkMemo, Katrina exemplifies the critical importance of mastering multiple-platform media in order to excel in the changing world of journalism. Katrina explains, “My experience in publishing will help bring a cohesive, authoritative voice to PinkMemo which will further define the brand. My background in television and web efforts gives me a unique perspective on both the luxury market and the online magazine genre that will help establish PinkMemo as the go-to destination for smart, savvy, stylish women for whom the traditional monthly magazine is no longer a relevant nor a compelling option.”
An honors graduate from Harvard, Szish started her career as an intern at CNN’s “Style with Elsa Klensch.” She has since held senior roles at GQ, VOGUE and InStyle magazine, has served as an anchor at ABC NEWS NOW and a correspondent for E!, and remains a red carpet commentator for the Oscars. Additionally, Katrina is a freelance correspondent for CNN.com, a regular on TBS’ ‘Movie and a Makeover’ and a featured expert on a myriad of national TV shows. Katrina adds, “We will continue to grow PinkMemo in the new media space with the creation of branded videos, an impressive stable of writers and editors, and content that is intelligent and indicative of a new generation of stylish women.”
The New York edition holds primary focus for PinkMemo as it carves out a niche audience and defines a strong, identifiable brand with consumers. With the arrival of Katrina Szish, the impending rise of the economy and online advertising budgets regaining composure, PinkMemo is set to take the online media arena by storm.
