Nintendo has unveiled its successor to the Wii with the new Wii U.
Their new home game console will feature 1080p HD graphics (an area the Wii has lagged behind on compared to other consoles) and a touchscreen.
Nintendo said that Wii U will be compatible with all other Wii accessories, including the Remote and Nunchuk. But there will also be a new 6.2 inch touchscreen controller. The controller will have a gyroscope and accelerometer for tilt control. You’ll also find the traditional Nintendo stick and button controls, as well as a microphone, speakers and an inward facing camera.
No word on cost of the device. Nintendo says the Wii U will available after April 1, 2012.
