The brilliant Nikki Finke of Deadline.com has finally commented on the the HBO series ‘Tilda’ — which is very loosely (or not so loosely) based on Hollywood’s most feared blogger…. First, as we blogged about a few weeks ago:

In other news, Diane Keaton and Ellen Page are both set to star in HBO’s new half hour comedy pilot, Tilda. Directed by Bill Condon, the show features Keaton as a powerful Hollywood blogger with a “no holds barred style” that’s clearly modeled on Deadline’s own Nikki Finke, the hard-charging doyenne of online tinsel-town news and gossip. The big question circling Hollywood now — will Nikki Finkle sue HBO over Tilda? We don’t want to scream TOLDJA! — but HBO better assemble a fleet of lawyers. To profit, and rip off her persona, without any compensation to Nikki, HBO is skating on thin ice. – from Pursuitist

So, obviously, lawyers have been talking…. Here’s the latest, and last statement, from Nikki:

…Why am I making my first and last statement about Tilda today? Only because there is an agreement now in place among myself, Deadline’s parent company MMC, and Watski productions (which is producing the Tilda pilot) negotiated solely on my behalf by attorney Tal Vigderson. I still have no creative or consulting involvement with the show nor wanted any. I still won’t write about the show. And Deadline.com journalists can still write whatever they want about the show. As for all of you who’ve asked for a quote from me about Tilda, here it is: “It should have been called Toldja!” – from Nikki Finke
