The Motorola Droid 4, an Android-based smartphone with a physical keyboard, will be released on February 10.
The new Droid is priced at $199 with a two-year contract.
The Droid line has been a huge success for Motorola, and the upcoming version should continue that run. It is similar in appearance to the DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX.
The Droid 4 has the following features:
- A 1.2-gigahertz dual-core processor
- One gigabyte of RAM
- 16 gigabytes of built-in storage
- A full QWERTY keyboard
- An eight-megapixel/1080p camera on back and a 1.3-megapixel/720p camera out front
- A mini-USB port for charging and a mini-HDMI port for connecting to an HDTV
The Droid 4 will run on Google’s Android Gingerbread operating system. There is an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade planned for a later in 2012.
It all should make for another hit for Motorola and the Android OS.
