When night falls in your garden, everything seems to stop awaiting the new day. Indoors, lights start flickering all over the city, defining that moment when everybody returns home. Capturing this moment in time, when dusk sets over the city, the Solar floor and table lamp designed by Jean Marie Massaud for manufacturer Foscarini irradiates a warm glow to accompany your darkest hours.
Perfect for both indoor and outdoor use, the sculptural lamp showcases a translucent hemisphere gently resting on the desired surface. The outdoor version is somewhat different from the indoor one, having been designed with a flat surface flush with the edge, to allow the rain to slide off the surface. It comes in a textures material, while the indoor version is available in glossy white or dark wood. Easy to tilt in different directions, this simple yet highly efficient and inspiring design can help create light paths and can also be successfully used in commercial applications.
“This is the vision behind Solar, which is not just a lamp but a new type of object, resulting from an emotional approach to space and distinguished by the hemispherical shape inspired by the celestial vault, while the resting surface recalls an eclipse. It is a symbiosis between nature and culture that recreates the soft luminous sensation of dusk or dawn.”
