Wire chairs provoke the imagination by implementing a highly contemporary design to match modern interiors. The Parabola Chair is one of these furniture pieces that strike with their visual appeal. Launched during ICFF 2013, the intriguing chair showcases its highly sculptural design in a successful effort to “achieve a single surface that serves as seating, armrest, and backrest supported by a minimal structure.”
Los Angeles-based product designer Carlo Aiello imagined an elongated shape that plays with surfaces, porosity and mathematics: “Although the chair exhibits curvatures in two directions (hyperbolic paraboloid) all its components are straight and easy to manufacture.” The Parabola Chair is not only eye-candy for anyone who loves wire chairs and modern design, but also a cozy addition to residential spaces. Made from metal, the chair was carefully designed to be comfortable in spite of its material and its playful, almost impossible shape.
