Don’t forget the bath when planning a remodel.
Tim Kraetsch admits that, at first, the motivation was the prospect of a bigger bedroom. But then, like many other remodeling projects, the perspective grew with the possibilities. Kraetsch and his wife, Susan, had plenty of room to work with in the attic of their 83-year-old Wauwatosa bungalow. A finished bedroom occupied space in its front side. Unused space behind beckoned. They decided to use it all. Ten months later, the Kraetschs had the master bedroom they wanted. Alongside it was a new feature representing a fast-growing trend in home remodeling: A luxury bath loaded with creature comforts. Heated floors. A round shower and a soaking tub.
