A new members-only site is due to launch in the United States offering discounts on fair trade fashion, accessories and beauty products.
The site, called Lovingeco (www.lovingeco.com), is due to launch on June 6. In the same manner as other members-only fashion sites, such as Gilt or Rue La La, Lovingeco offers limited-time brand-specific sales with items discounted by as much as 70 percent.
The site, in addition to stocking environmentally friendly, ethically responsible clothing, will also donate three percent of net proceeds from each purchase to a variety of social or environmental groups including Global Green USA and The Environmental Media Association.
The site will stock brands such as organic clothing label Stewart + Brown, home décor and jewelry from Novica which works in partnership with traditional craftsmen around the world, and vegan footwear from Cri De Coeur. To become a member, shoppers can submit their email address via the official site; a notification and invitation code will then be sent when Lovingeco launches.
