Summer is here and so is the urge to camp out in the open! Let’s take a look inside the world’s first ever carbon-fibre caravan which has been designed to lure well-heeled campers to head out in style. Global Caravan Technologies, GCT, a luxury RV and specialty vehicle innovator, has released first photos of the interiors of its revolutionary CR-1 Carbon travel trailer. Till date, many carbon-fiber cars have hit the roads, but this is the first time a 35-foot long twin-axle RV will be towed as a giant carbon-fiber motor vehicle.

Stretching the definition of luxurious tailgating, the CR-1 Carbon’s custom lounges can be extended to be transformed into a theater on the rear end.

The optional glass ceiling feature will allow campers to gaze at the sky and count the stars without stepping out of the comfort zone! Decked with designer residential carpeting, the cozy bedroom is also surrounded by handcrafted leather upholstering. The carbon fiber bed frame brings the core element of the whole vehicle inside the bed chamber too.

Sporting a green feather, the production CR-1 will ride in at about 6,000 pounds which is estimated to be about half as much as a traditional RV of this size. This will help to boost fuel economy by 100 percent to 150 percent. Also the body and monocoque are completely bonded with no screws or fasteners, which also makes the CR-1 one of the stiffest trailers available.
