Spreading over 2,000 square meters, the generously-sized modern building shelters under its five-winged roof a mixture of food and wine. The building located in Beijing, China, is not only a restaurant, but a wine showroom with an underground winery attached. Spacious and luxuriously imagined as a two level building – a ground floor and a basement level – the contemporary structure was designed to resemble an asterisk, hence the name.
It was imagined by SAKO Architects as a structure made out of different functioning blocks floating on an island surrounded by a carefully manicured lake. Green surroundings accentuate the lavish brown color displayed by the facade. Made of five different volumes that unite in the middle, under a rounded skylight filtering natural light, the structure hosts wine exhibitions and weddings in a carefully studied atmosphere. Love wine and are on the lookout for a great place to get married? I think you might have just found the perfect place.
