Hublot is celebrating the 200th anniversary of Mexican independence with a limited edition King Power in the national colors. The timepiece features the symbol of the “Bell of Dolores” engraved on the case-back.
History tells that in 1810 the local priest of Dolores, Miguel Hidalgo y Castillo, called on the villagers by ringing the bells of his parish to revolt against the Spanish, with the famous “Cry of Dolores”, an exhortation to fight the Spanish government to win national independence.
The revolt of Dolores triggered a wave of revolution throughout the country, thereby marking the first step towards its independence.
Now, in 2010, Hublot is paying tribute to these early combatants by creating a King Power bearing on its dial the colors of Mexico.
