Honda delivers more power and more speed to you while riding away with more of your money with the launch of its most expensive street-legal production motorcycle. Honda has introduced the RC213V-S in an attempt to make it possible for a machine developed for competition in MotoGP races to run on public roads. Honda’s new street-legal racing bike goes on sale in July for $184,000.
Based on the manufacturer’s principle that the fastest machine in the world is also the machine that is the easiest to maneuver in the world, RC213V-S has inherited the specifications of the RC213V which is a winning machine designed exclusively for racing. Also the RC213V-S and Honda’s MotoGP championship winning motorcycle share about 80 percent of their parts.
The street version also features an aluminum frame, under-seat gas tank, and carbon fiber-reinforced plastic bodywork. The powertrain is a 999cc V4 connected to a six-speed gearbox. Due to noise restrictions, US-bound RC213V-S will be restricted to 8,000 rpm. However it will ride with adjustable power modes and engine-brake control, plus a race-developed traction control system. The beast will also speed away with RS10 tires made by Bridgestone Corporation.
