Harrods has unveiled the world’s most exclusive countdown to Christmas – a $1 million advent calendar featuring a collection of remarkable gifts, created by luxury brand Porsche Design.
The calendar, which is one of only five available worldwide, will be showcased in the opulent surroundings of our Menswear department until Friday 3rd December 2010. Standing at more than 1.75 metres tall, it will undoubtedly prove to be the ultimate Christmas gift for one extremely lucky recipient!
Behind the calendar’s 24 windows, elegantly illuminated by light bars, this incredible showpiece will reveal an unique, luxurious surprise from Porsche Design each day in the build up to Christmas. Three particularly special, concealed highlights include a Porsche Design P’6910 Indicator Chronograph in rosé gold; an individually customisable Porsche Design Kitchen; and a 8.5 metre long RFF28 Speedboat, designed by the Porsche Design Studio in Austria. In addition to this magnificent trio of highlights, many other products by Porsche Design lie hidden. These include sunglasses made of 18 ct yellow gold, fine writing tools, timeless cufflinks and the premium running shoe Bounce:S” – winner of several design awards.
Michael Ward, Managing Director of Harrods, said: “Harrods has long been associated with unveiling innovative and highly exclusive products and we are delighted to be welcoming Porsche Design’s unique advent calendar.”
Dr. Juergen Gessler, CEO of the Porsche Design Group said: “It is a great honour for us that world-famous department store Harrods in Knightsbridge is as enthralled by our advent calendar as we are and that this magnificent Porsche Design showpiece is going to be displayed there.”
The Porsche Design advent calendar is showcased in Menswear, Lower Ground Floor until Friday 3rd December.
