Harrison Ford has spent decades portraying rugged, timeless characters on screen, and now the legendary actor has lent his taste and personality to a new limited-edition Glenmorangie Highland single malt Scotch whisky.
The Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition is the result of a close collaboration between Ford and Glenmorangie’s acclaimed Director of Whisky Creation, Dr. Bill Lumsden MBE. Developed after months of tastings and experimentation, the elegant new expression reflects Ford’s personal whisky preferences with a flavor profile that combines Glenmorangie’s trademark smoothness with what the actor describes as “a little bite.”
Ford first developed an appreciation for Glenmorangie while filming the brand’s whimsical advertising campaign, Once Upon a Time in Scotland, where he appeared as himself exploring the famed Highland distillery and its whisky-making traditions. During filming, Ford spent time tasting various cask samples with Dr. Lumsden, discussing flavor nuances and refining the direction of what would eventually become his own signature bottling.
“Very nice.”
That simple phrase became Ford’s understated seal of approval after tasting the finished whisky.
Crafted from classic bourbon cask-aged Glenmorangie and enhanced with whisky finished in toasted Portuguese red wine casks, the limited-edition release delivers a layered and refined drinking experience. Zesty citrus notes lead the palate, followed by hints of muscovado sugar, apricot, and butter candy. The finish lingers with impressions of orange oil, leather, oak tannin, and subtle spice.
The whisky’s unveiling coincides with a new chapter in the Once Upon a Time in Scotland campaign. Directed by actor and filmmaker Joel Edgerton, the latest episode was filmed in Ford’s home state of Wyoming and features the actor reflecting on his experience in Scotland while sampling the whisky for the first time on camera — while wearing a kilt.

Ford praised the collaborative process and the craftsmanship behind the final product.
“I loved my time at Glenmorangie and have enormous respect for the team at the Distillery,” Ford explained. “They are true craftspeople. Collaborating with Dr. Bill was a real treat — a chance to get inside the mind of a maker who combines art and science to create incredible single malt Scotch whisky.
“We tasted many casks together on our search for a Glenmorangie that would speak to my taste. Truth be told, I liked a lot of them — but the Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition is everything I want in a whisky. I’m immensely proud of our creation. I hope you enjoy it. I certainly do.”
Dr. Lumsden said the project was designed to capture both Glenmorangie’s signature elegance and Ford’s straightforward personality.
“We knew Harrison was a whisky lover even before he arrived at Glenmorangie, so I was thrilled to make him an honorary member of our Whisky Creation Team,” said Lumsden. “In keeping with our signature style — and Harrison’s — the Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition is very elegant and smooth. But since Harrison also likes his whisky with a little bite, we layered classic bourbon casks with the tang and structure of toasted Portuguese red wine casks.
“You’ll taste all the hallmark Glenmorangie notes of honeysuckle, citrus and buttery softness, countered by a marmalade edge and grippy tannins. This whisky is timeless and endlessly surprising — much like Harrison himself.”
The Glenmorangie Harrison Ford Limited Edition is now available for $99.99 through Glenmorangie.com, ReserveBar, and select retailers nationwide.
