Google is currently beta testing new features to the customizable iGoogle Homepage. First up, the new iGoogle will show snippets of the latest RSS feed that you subscribe to (see below):
Users are able to turn this off under “Edit” — where a new “Display” option is included. From there, you can change to “Headline only” – which is the the normal display. “Headline and lead story” is the new beta example shown above, featuring the story snippet.
The new and weird (and buggy) addition is called “Slideshow” — which showcases an image and the lead story. With the big arrows, you can cycle through other stories. If there are no images, however, it looks a bit strange. Slideshow is a bit random and a waste of white space — so we don’t expect this to be included in the final version.
