She has dressed Michelle Obama and the likes of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Beckinsale, Madonna, Jessica Alba and Jennifer Lopez. After all these years, the American designer has announced that finally she will be dressing up the Statue of Liberty. Diane Von Furstenberg is doing so to mark the launch of her new show House of DVF. However she will not be heading out to Liberty Island in the middle of New York Harbor, in Manhattan, to wrap up the original 151 feet statue. Diane has plans to strategically place six miniature versions of the Statue of Liberty all wrapped in signature DVF style around New York City from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1. Christening the Statue of Liberty as the ‘It girl of New York’, the designer is excited to share the news about her new muse.
The idea behind this strategy is to promote her show as Von Furstenberg encourages fans to visit each of the six statues and take pictures with DVF-styled Lady Liberty and share images across various social channels using the hashtag #HouseOfDVF. The first unveiling will occur during von Furstenberg’s Wednesday appearance on the “Today” show.
