Its offerings include chocolate truffles prepared by Compartes, a Brentwood based chocolatier. The beans hail from Equator Coffees, a San Rafael-based roaster. Demitasse is a pretty hardcore coffee shop that doesn’t have airs. That’s refreshing!
The cafe featured Kyoto iced coffee, which is brewed from this hourglass-like contraption from Japan. Water drips onto imported coffee grounds overnight for an approximate 14 hours to create this beverage that will awaken anyone’s senses within the first few sips. It’s served in a sake carafe, where the ice is separated from the liquid, ensuring that the coffee will never become diluted while you’re enjoying it.
