The luxury hotel chain Nobu of Hollywood actor Robert De Niro and Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa is expanding to Miami Beach. Nobu Hotel and Restaurant will take over the existing Eden Roc Hotel in Miami Beach in late 2014. Here’s the press release with more information:
Nobu Hospitality LLC and Eden Roc LLLP announced plans for the Nobu Hotel within the Eden Roc Miami Beach. The Nobu Hotel and Restaurant will be a ‘hotel within a hotel’ comparable in tactic to the highly successful Nobu Hotel at Caesars Palace Las Vegas which was named as one of the Hottest New Hotels of 2013 by CNN.
The strategy with the Nobu Hotel at Eden Roc is centered upon underscoring and showcasing the Eden Roc name with the Nobu Hotel as an additional offering within the Eden Roc property. The Nobu Restaurant at the Eden Roc and other core food and beverage facilities are in the process of being planned and shall involve all stakeholders. David Rockwell of the Rockwell Group has been selected as the designer to ensure the proposed design shall be respectful to our stakeholders, the Morris Lapidus design and the renowned name of the Eden Roc Miami Beach.
“As owners of the Eden Roc our centric vision as the long-term guardians of the Eden Roc name and property for generations to come, is to see the property flourish with welcoming guests both local and further afield. Destination Hotels and Resorts, recognized for over 40 years of luxury and upscale hospitality management expertise and excellence, and our committed associates shall continue to execute the successful management of the Eden Roc in conjunction with Nobu Hospitality management of the Nobu Hotel,” said Diego Ardid, Eden Roc LLLP. “Through utilizing the professional capability, luxury positioning and global appeal of Nobu Hospitality we are enacting part of our orchestrated plan to further re-establish the Eden Roc Miami Beach as the ultimate destination in Miami taking into the consideration all of our stakeholders.”
“We look forward to the new partnership and enhancing the experience for our loyal guests who are looking for authentic, unique and truly distinctive hospitality experiences,” said Jamie Sabatier, president and COO of Destination Hotels & Resorts.
“The Eden Roc is an extremely special property from its history, design and the Eden Roc name itself. We will be working carefully with the current ownership and in collaboration with Destination Hotels and Resorts and associates in embracing and reinforcing the Eden Roc name and property,” said Trevor Horwell, Chief Executive of Nobu Hospitality. “Each of our shareholders Chef Nobu, Robert DeNiro and Meir Teper have very fond personal memories of the property, and we are all passionately driven to see the Eden Roc name and legacy return to its former glory embracing with genuine respect and care, the style and integrity of the original Eden Roc crafted by Morris Lapidus.”
