Vacation homes tend to surprise the owner’s deepest desires for relaxing and entertaining. The Wanka House exemplifies this with its highly contemporary architecture imagined by Galera Estudio. Located in an Argentinian beach resort town called Cariló, this dream home was meant to give inhabitants, their family and friends and inspired place to meat and enjoy each others company or just care for the owner’s needs when it comes to solitude.
Caught between the forest in the front and the sea in the back and exploring panoramas of the city skyline beyond, the modern vacation home is filled with stylish details. A partially buried ground floor shelters the playroom and service area, while the main social spaces like the living and dining rooms open towards the forest in a successful effort to embed its naturalness in the interior design. Extending outdoors, entertaining spaces turn into an inviting barbecue area complete with a welcoming terrace and a challenging swimming pool. Cantilevering over the slightly sloping terrain, the bedroom floor rests on a column and sustains the top floor terrace, where leisure defined the design.
