The Playhouse designed by Aboday Architects is witness to the children’s growing up, featuring an incredible concrete slide. Located in Bumi Serpong Damai, Tangerang, Indonesia, this magnificent two story childhood dream house occupies 150 square meters on a property measuring 320 square meters.
Exposed concrete acts as the main material, while glass connects the indoors to the landscaped surroundings. Privately displaying a luscious surrounding, the Playhouse is situated in a gated community and shocases its modern shape proudly, exposing shapes from behind greenery. Inside, the 10 meter high ceiling floods the space with natural light. This high cement ceiling causes the interior to overheat, but a special coating of heat resistant membrane on the external roof was the solution to overcome this, as well as the plants which will soon grow up to the roof, cooling the interiors even further. Small skylights help better illuminate the social spaces, creating an inviting home.
