Each person has different needs and expectations from his/her dream house. A Korean family living in Chungbuk were extremely pleased with the residence Moon Hoon Architecture built for them – a carefully studied space arrangement that would define a playful and honest lifestyle for the couple in their thirties and their four children. Known as the Panorama House, this stunning work of geometric architecture rises in a newly built suburb.
Designed around the parent’s wish for having a home where their children could play and study in an open atmosphere, the new home showcases a playful architecture spread over an irregular sloping site. The lower floors were reserved fro the children, while the upper ones are the parents’ private heaven and the attic is used as a play space for the smaller children. Creating different panoramic vantage points with the use of different-sized windows, the architect was able to imagine an unusual arrangement – a multi-functional space where the social areas would intermingle with the stunningly versatile staircase. The stairs encompass a library, reading nooks, home cinema and a fun slide. With inviting heated floors, the sofas become obsolete and allow the design to be a great part of the family’s everyday life.
