This challenging contemporary residential project implied the collective efforts of Reid Smith Architects, LC2 Design Services and Teton Heritage Builders. This collaboration resulted in the erection of a stunning dream home that celebrates comfort and a permanent visual contact with the inspiring surroundings. Located in the Yellowstone residential, ski and golf Club resort in Montana, this transparent temple of comfort is known as the Lower Foxtail Residence.
Clean, sleek design lines define the interiors, as well as the exterior. The South-facing wall is constructed of triple-pane Unilux windows that open up to astounding views of the surrounding mountains and vegetation. Dark, almost mysterious interiors were carefully designed to offer a sense of deep sophistication. This contrasts the cold outdoors, separating the two worlds without breaking visual contact. Sprinkled with organic details like the coffee table in the living room, the branch chandelier hanging over the dining table or the bold raw wood tables grounding the design in one of the bedrooms, the residence inspires us to courageously use natural shapes, textures and colors to create our own version of a dream home.
