Thinking about living in a fantastic, modern home, where you can enjoy as much natural light as possible? This fascinating glass pavilion house, named Lake Lugano House, showcases how that dream can actually come true. Located on the shores of the glacial Lake Lugano, in the south-east of Switzerland, this villa displays a polygonal, roundly shaped glass pavilion placed on top of a linear underground volume. This was possible due to the topography of the site and has opened many opportunities for the architects from Italian practice JM Architecture. The pavilion shelters the living and dining spaces, the kitchen, powder room and storage facilities, while the lower level features the bedrooms, bathrooms and garage.
The glass pavilion offers exceptional views in two distinct directions: one towards the mountain and the other overlooking the lake. This allows the inhabitants to have the best of both worlds while comfortable living a fantastic modern lifestyle. A partly glazed white facade and the white gravel capture light and warmth and guide it inside, while the layout of the house welcomes fresh air that breezes through the interiors for a natural ventilation. Enjoy the photos of the inspiring interior and exterior spaces!
